This collection is the second accession of materials used by Virginia M. Keeler in writing her master's thesis on the life and art of Francis C. Schroen, S.J. Brother Schroen painted the decorative work in Healy Hall at Georgetown University and in other collegiate and ecclesiastical buildings in the United States and abroad. Ms. Keeler, the longtime Secretary of the University, submitted her thesis on April 29, 1989 to the School for Summer and Continuing Education at Georgetown. The collection consists of correspondence received by Keeler after the completion of her thesis; photographs of Bro. Schroen's paintings at Boston College, Georgetown University and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kingston, Jamaica; and several printed items.

Virginia "Ginny" Mary Keeler was born in 1932. She began working as secretary to the president of Georgetown University in 1953, the year she graduated from Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania. In 1968 she was appointed Assistant Secretary of the University, and, in 1974, Secretary of the University, a position she held until her retirement in 1997.
